The Birds Park Resort - Polgahawela

Project Description

Built on a sprawling coconut estate with panoramic views of the surrounding hillside, the residence takes full advantage of the site’s natural topography to create layered, interactive spaces. The building is organized across a lower ground and ground level, which serve as open communal areas that encourage social interaction and fluid movement, while the upper levels accommodate private family and double rooms, ensuring privacy and comfort.

The design thoughtfully integrates the existing natural features of the site, including a prominent rock formation, which has been incorporated into the pool area as a distinctive architectural element. This approach not only highlights the raw beauty of the landscape but also strengthens the connection between the built environment and its natural context. The interplay of natural levels, expansive views, and carefully considered spatial planning results in a dynamic yet harmonious environment that balances communal engagement with intimate retreat, creating a residence that is both visually striking and experientially rich.
